Privacy Policy & SMS Messaging Terms

Last updated: September 9, 2026

1. Privacy Policy

Fraternity Hub is a private communication tool for verified brothers only. Access requires explicit administrator approval; unapproved accounts see no directory, event, or messaging data. We collect the profile information a brother chooses to provide (name, spouse/partner name, graduation year, home address, region, phone/text number, email address, WhatsApp number, employment history, attributes, event opt-ins, and outside interests) solely to operate the directory, the Master Calendar, and cross-channel event communications.

Every message sent regarding a calendar event is retained in the message archive for up to one year so that any brother can review that event's communication history, even if they were not opted in at the time it was sent. Segment messages (ad hoc, unsaved query-based broadcasts) are not archived.

Brothers may permanently delete their own profile information and any messages they have sent at any time, for any reason, directly from the Profile page's Danger Zone. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

2. No Third-Party Data Sharing

No mobile phone number, WhatsApp number, email address, or SMS/WhatsApp opt-in consent collected through Fraternity Hub will be shared, sold, rented, or otherwise disclosed to any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes, under any circumstances.

This information is used exclusively to route messages between brothers across their chosen channel (email, text, or WhatsApp) as described in this policy. Limited disclosure to infrastructure subcontractors strictly necessary to deliver messages (our SMS/WhatsApp and email delivery providers) is permitted solely for that delivery purpose, and those subcontractors are prohibited from using the data for any other purpose.

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

3. Default Opt-Out Threshold

Every brother defaults to an OPTED-OUT state for every newly created calendar event. No SMS, WhatsApp, or email alert is ever sent to a brother for a given event unless that brother has taken the affirmative step of tapping "Opt-In to Messages" on that event's card in the Master Calendar. A brother may opt in or opt out of any individual event's alerts at any time, and this choice never automatically enrolls them in any other event.

Independently of event opt-ins, each brother separately controls, in their Profile, which channels (Text/SMS, WhatsApp, Email) may be used to reach them for segment broadcasts, via the "Allow Segment Broadcasts Via" settings. A channel left unchecked there will never receive a segment message, regardless of any event opt-in status.

4. SMS Messaging Terms

  • Program description: By opting in to a calendar event or enabling a segment channel, you consent to receive SMS text messages from Fraternity Hub related to that event or that segment broadcast.
  • Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on event activity and the segment broadcasts brothers choose to send. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Opt-out (STOP): Reply STOP at any time to cancel SMS messages from this number. After you send the SMS message STOP, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from this number. If you want to receive messages again, opt back in from within the app.
  • Help (HELP): Reply HELP at any time for help. You can also contact your chapter administrator directly for support.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

5. Security

Fraternity Hub is a high-trust environment restricted to administrator-approved brothers. Reasonable technical safeguards are used to protect stored data against unauthorized access. No system is completely immune to compromise; brothers are asked not to share their login credentials with anyone.
